Cemetery Governance and Administration Overview for Small Cemeteries

A Quick Legislative Overview for Cemetery Custodians and Volunteer Board Members of Religious and Not-For-Profit Cemeteries. The purpose of this course is to provide awareness and resources for new and existing cemetery managers and members of Volunteer Boards and other entities across the province who are tasked with overseeing the operation of small cemeteries.

Topics will be presented that will provide a high-level overview of the requirements of operating a cemetery in the province of Ontario.

This education is provided free to all OACFP members.

We have also partnered with the BAO to make this education available to many cemetery operators across the province free of charge. Please contact the BAO to see if you qualify to receive this education at no cost.

Cemetery Governance and Administration Certification


Test your knowledge of small cemetery administration's basic principles. As a follow up to the Cemetery Governance and Administration Overview for Small Cemeteries education module, this test reinforces basic legislative requirements for cemetery operators. A certificate of achievement will be issued upon successful completion of the exam. The cost for certification is $50.00.  Cemetery Governance and Administration Overview Documents must be downloaded before you can purchase the exam.

An Education Program for Cemetery Managers & Municipal Cemetery Administrators.  This course will provide a detailed introduction to the regulations and issues that are involved in the administration of a cemetery in Ontario.  It serves as a more in-depth discussion of topics that are presented in our overview course, "Cemetery Governance and Administration Overview for Small Cemeteries".  Qualifies for 6 hours of CE in Category A.

This course will guide and assist you in: Understanding the standards and expectations of a licensed cemetery sales representative; Becoming competent as a licensed cemetery representative; Completing sales and transactions of contracts in compliance with bereavement sector regulations. The purpose of this self-study course is to provide accurate and complete information to prospective cemetery sales representatives while allowing learners to complete the course on their own, at their own pace.  Qualifies for 8 hours of CE in Category A.
