Overview

In this course, you’ll learn what a respectful workplace looks like, how to recognize harassment and discrimination, and what laws are in place to safeguard the workplace. We’ll then dig into the specifics of sexual harassment, including how to prevent and respond to inappropriate behaviour as both an employee and a supervisor or employer.

Disclosure: This course is provided for informational purposes only, and is not intended, nor should it be relied upon, for legal advice regarding the Occupational Health and Safety Act (OHSA) or any other subject matter.  Check with your local regulatory agency for details regarding measurable workplace safety standards. This course does not cover every situation or answer every question about the legal requirements for workplace violence and workplace harassment in Ontario. It also does not cover requirements for other workplace health and safety issues. This course does not cover other legal obligations that may exist such as those under Canada's Criminal Code or Ontario's Human Rights Code.

What comes to mind when you think of a constructive work environment? Is it one that’s safe? Professional? Welcoming? Everyone has a slightly different answer, but one theme is unifying: a respectful, inclusive culture, free of harassment and discrimination.

You will need to complete each section of this course and earn a 80% or better on the final quiz to pass.
