Family Service Clerk - 6 Month Contract, Mount Pleasant Group, Toronto


Mount Pleasant Group of Cemeteries is a not-for-profit organization that has been caring for families in the GTA since 1826. We operate ten cemeteries, nine funeral centres and four cremation centres, all serving the distinct needs of the local communities where they are located. We are looking for a Temporary 6 Month Contract Family Service Clerk to join our team at Prospect Cemetery. 

The Successful Candidate Will Be Required To:
  • Check interments/entombments daily; take photographs and rubbings of memorials
  • Register interment rights & records documents
  • Scan and index cemetery documents as required 
  • Reconcile and prepare daily bank deposits 
  • Finalizing Interment Arrangements, ensuring all documents are received, processed and  finalized
  • Process memorial orders; create documents, receipts, invoices, foundation and setting orders , including dealer approvals 
  • Create and process purchase orders
  • Relieve receptionist as required
  • Answer overflow calls from back of office 
  • Attend graveside interments of cremated remains when required
  • Maintain various reporting functions including survey letters, unutilized prepaids, PAP Paid in Full, etc.  
  • Provide reception and clerical coverage at York Cemetery as required (mileage between Prospect & York will be compensated)
  • Perform other sundry duties as assigned

Hours/Days of Work: 

  • Tuesday to Saturday  
  • 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM
  • Please Note – There is a possibility to be scheduled to work at York Cemetery periodically.

Qualifications:

  • Commitment to detail and accuracy
  • A valid Ontario “G” driver’s licence and acceptable driver’s abstract
  • The successful applicant must obtain a Sales Representative Licence upon hire
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills; team player
  • Ability to multi-task in a busy office environment
  • Experience working with MS Office and Excel as well as standard office equipment
